Student Athlete Of The Week For November 17, 2011

Student Name: Casey Ladlie
High School: North Callaway
GPA: 4.0

Sports Played: Softball-4 years, Basketball-2.5 (injury), Track-3 years

Achievements: National Honor Society-President; Future Teachers of America-Vice President; Student Council-Treasurer; Biology Club-Treasurer; Kite Club; Spanish Club; SADD; Softball; Track; Special Olympics-Volunteer

Reason For Nomination: Casey is one of the most dedicated hard working individuals that I have ever had the privilege to coach both on and off of the field. She is always taking on leadership roles whether in the outfield, at school, or in her community as a volunteer. If there's a volunteer event going on, you can be sure that Casey is one that is working as a volunteer and likely one of the people on the committee at our school to help organize it. She works so hard behind the scenes to make things run smoothly and are well taken care of. Casey is also extremely dedicated in the classroom. She typically is one of the top students in every class that she has ever taken. In some classes, if it doesn't come easy, she'll be the one who will sit and study and work through it long after her peers have had enough. She knows what she wants out of life and is working hard to continue to earn the hard way everything that she's ever gotten in life. I can't wait to watch this young lady grow into one of the most successful students that I have had the privilege to teach and coach throughout her high school career.

Pland After High School: Casey would like to study Psychology at University of Missouri-St. Louis for her undergraduate degree. She would then like to move on to a graduate degree in occupational therapy at Washington University.
